Count Yourself to Sleep Technique
1) Lay down in a comfortable position and use any relaxation technique you need to use to get your body to completely relax. Be sure to also relax your mind, not holding on to any thoughts, just letting them slip away and your body relaxes deeper and deeper.
2) When you are completely relaxed and ready to go to sleep, start counting to yourself. 1, 2, 3, etc., etc. Your counting should be slow and even, allowing the counting to let you slip slowly into sleep. If you reach 100, simply start counting over at 1 or continue on to 101, 102, etc., whichever feels right to you.
Note: Some persons prefer to say the words, "I'm dreaming", after each number. It is your choice if you choose to say this or not. It is 100% optional.
3) When images start showing, look for signs of a dream world. (colors wrong, things out of place and such) and you will be in a lucid dream.
