How to schedule your efforts for best results
Most lucid dreams happen in the late morning hours of sleep. If you normally sleep for eight hours, you will probably have six REM periods with the last half occurring in the last quarter of the night. The probability of having a lucid dream in the last two hours of sleep is more than twice as great as the probability of having a lucid dream in the previous six hours.
If you are serious about lucid dreaming, you should arrange at least one morning a week where you can stay in bed several hours longer than usual. If you can't afford more time in bed, there is a simple secret to increasing your lucid dreaming that requires no extra sleep.
For it to work however, you must be committed to Lucid Dreaming and be determined to succeed. It is your intent (your desire) that causes it to work. If you are only half-hearted in your desires, your results will only be half-hearted at best.
To do it, take a moment or two before laying down for the night and focus your intent on waking from your dreams immediately after they end. This is best accomplished by designing an affirmation you can repeat to your self before retiring that encompasses your desires to both awake immediately after a dream and remember the details to the dream. You should design the affirmations for yourself for the best results, but something along the lines of: "I will awaken immediately after my dream and will recall it fully", will do just fine.
Before retiring, repeat your affirmation several times, focusing your will on being determined to get good results from your efforts. It may take a few nights of repeating this cycle to see perfect results, but your efforts will be rewarded if your intent is strong enough.
